Curiosity is the cure

Not a nice-to-have. Very much not a soft skill. It’s the cure.

When organizations break down—good people failing, teams playing it safe, systems becoming obstacles—it’s because curiosity got eliminated. Slowly, then all at once.

Through “culture fit” hiring that weeded out anyone who might ask uncomfortable questions. Through resourcing models treating people like Tetris pieces. Through leadership that performs instead of practices.

All those behaviors everyone complains about? Symptoms. The disease is curiosity elimination.

So what’s the cure?

Treating curiosity as the strategic capability it is. Not something you wait to feel. Something you practice. Build as a reflex. The foundation for navigating uncertainty, making decisions, creating conditions where people can actually think.

This newsletter makes visible what kills curiosity and questions the assumptions keeping failing systems running. If you’re a leader who knows something’s fundamentally wrong and looking for more than surface fixes—hi, I’m stoked you’re here.

What you can expect:

Writing that challenges, doesn’t validate. Uncomfortable truths about leadership performance versus practice. Systems-level diagnosis of why talented people keep failing in broken structures. Real talk about rebuilding—yourself, your teams, your organization—with curiosity at the heart.

Pulled from years inside creative agencies and marketing teams. Watching dysfunction play out. Learning what actually shifts it. Some sparked by fascinating humans I interact with daily. Never names. Just insights.

Who’s writing this

I’m Carolina, founder of CCL Atelier. I rebuild leaders and systems simultaneously in creative companies—because you can’t develop people without fixing what’s around them, and real change requires both to shift at the same time.

I’ve spent my career navigating growth, transitions, breaking points. This newsletter is where I think out loud about what I’m seeing, what’s broken, and how curiosity is the way through.
